About Our School
The theme of High Reaches Karate & Fitness llc is Philippians 3:13-14.
We teach a Christ-centered martial art that is formally recognized by
both the Korea Hapkido Federation and the World Kido Federation and
contains foundational biblical teachings within the martial arts
curriculum. Respect and tolerance for all human life is taught. Our system
has a life long relationship with Akayama Ryu.
We welcome all students regardless of their race or religious
background. Our goal is to provide quality martial arts and fitness
instruction to children and adults in a family friendly environment at an
affordable price. It is our hope to guide boys and men to the path of
peace through discipline, leadership and self-confidence and to educate
girls and women on how to be safe and use effective assault prevention
strategies.
We believe in community outreach. We believe that faith-based
organizations are effective channels to impact the community and we will
partner with them in ways to better our city.
We have been teaching martial arts in the Ashland County area since
October of 2001. We began teaching inside of a local gymnastics
company and outgrew our position there in 2007. We feel there is an
advantage to having a blatantly Christian approach to martial arts where
we focus on the entire development of our students: physical, mental and
spiritual. This is different than the norm of many martial arts schools.
In the near future we will be expanding and taking on more staff. If you
are a serious black belt student of the arts, interested in and open to new
methods of teaching and style differences, feel free to contact us as we
may be looking for you!
